My most favorite sight when going to Portland is the Temple, I love the way it stands so majestically among the tall pines, what a spectacular sight it is off the busy freeway and in my opinion one of the most beautiful buildings in Oregon if not the country. (not biased here)

On the night I picked up my camera there was a ward Temple trip. Fortunately I arrived there about 2 hours early and had the opportunity to spend that time taking pictures and getting to know the camera. Here are some of the shots. -SG

well...I wrote a lengthy comment and went to post it...and it didn't post...so I'll shorten it.

I really like the image on the right.

The picture on the left is a little over-exposed around the base of the temple, and you can fix that by shooting manually and checking the histogram to be sure that you're not over exposed or you can shoot two exposures...one for the spires/sky and one for the base of the temple and then blend them in Photoshop.
